Dutchess Heritage Quilt Show XVIII October 7&8, 2017
“Be our guest, Be our guest. Put our service to the test. Tie your napkin 'round your neck, Cherie, and we'll provide the rest!” Ah, who doesn’t love Beauty and the Beast? Though we won’t tie a napkin ‘round your neck, the DH Quilt Show Committee has been very busy behind the scenes preparing for the October Show. That is just half the picture though. The remainder is all up to y-o-u. We need your quilts, your wall hangings and your Challenge entries to make it a spectacular show. Teri Lucas workshop registration forms and details are on our website at www.dhquiltshow.org. Space is still available so don’t forget to sign up early before the seats are taken. Come be inspired!
May was a very busy month for the committee. We prepared 140 eyeglass cases with show date labels. The cases were distributed to DCC/DH Quilt Show supporters as well as those attending the Scholarship Luncheon. We also met our Fall 2017 scholarship winners, prepared show signage and worked with Com250 as they finished “The Sisters of the Traveling Quilt” and unveiled their finished product.
Volunteer sign up for the show has begun. If you can help in any way your time and enthusiasm will be deeply appreciated! Pat Moran will be at the June meeting taking names, be sure to join the fun!
Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable July and August as we take a brief sabbatical from FDQ meetings. When we return in September we will all feel renewed and ready to think about fall and the wonderful entries we’ve prepared for the show! Please follow us on Facebook: Dutchess Heritage Quilt Show and visit the show website at www.dhquiltshow.org.
The Dutchess Heritage Quilt Show Committee
The Dutchess Heritage Quilt Show is held every second year at Dutchess Community College. The show is NOT an FDQ activity however most members of FDQ support and participate in the show. FDQ members design and sew the raffle quilt. We also contribute to the production of the show.
FDQ members contribute to DHQS as organizers, volunteers, and exhibitors. For more information please visit the quilt www.dhquiltshow.org
