Fred DiBernardo, MSPT, is co-owner of LaGrange Physical Therapy. He presented a program about postures, exercises and stretches that we, as quilters, can use to avoid or relieve muscle strain from quilting activities. He also discussed issues related to repetitive stress that can lead to carpal tunnel syndrome. This was an interactive presentation with demos and recommendations for less stress on our bodies while we quilt!
Quilters are subject to repetitive stress injuries. Using a handout, Fred demonstrated exercises we can do to help alleviated some of the effects. More information can be found at rsipain.com/stretching-exercises.php
