For April we have Katrina Thomas to show us some of her favorite quilting things as well as a
trunk show of many quilts!

Katrina Thomas made her first quilt as a teenager. While teaching knitting and crocheting
classes she was asked to teach a quilting class. She was hooked and a new career was
launched. Katrina has been teaching quilting classes in her home studio The Hope Chest, for over 20 years. In 2014 she became a Certified Instructor for Studio 180 Design tools and started designing her own patterns in 2015. Katrina’s quilt designs have been published in Fons and Porter and Quilter’s Newsletter Magazines. She loves to teach quilters how to improve their techniques by using the correct tools.

At the meeting : New products are being introduced to the quilting industry constantly. Katrina
loves to make quilters’ lives easier by introducing them to the tools and notions that she has
found work best for her. (And quilts!) Her website is

Workshop April 26 or 27 Raspberry Beret

This quilt design allows you to create an intricate star block using only the Square2™ tool from Studio 180 Design. An addition of a modified fourpatch gives you a great secondary design. The pattern  gives you the option of choosing from three different block sizes (18”Mini – 3” block, 35” Wall- 6” block, 54” X 67” Lap- 9” block) so that you can tailor your project to your needs. Learn how to make that tricky square in a square unit accurately every time. There’s still time to sign up and get your supplies ready since the workshop will take place a week and a half after our
meeting. Contact Katrina Thomas to enroll.
